Stylist And Hotelier Oumayma El Boumeshouli Shares Her Hero Beauty Products

Insider secrets for looking fabulous at every age: the Dubai-based, Moroccan-Dutch Entrepreneur shares her best beauty secrets.

I always found Chanel beauty products in bathroom cabinets when I was a child – they were my mother’s favourites. But right now I mostly use Laura Mercier and Guerlain’s lines.

Foundation: I’m a huge fan of Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturiser Natural Skin Perfector because it’s super soft and feels like you’re not wearing anything.

Mascara: Armani Beauty Eyes To Kill Classico Mascara. I also put it on my eyebrows to achieve a fluffy eyebrow effect.

Signature Scent: I layer Hermès Oud Alezan EDP Natural Spray with a musk fragrance.

Make-up Hack: Use lipsticks as eyeshadows. Apply the lipstick onto your eyelids with your fingers and blend for a pop of colour. I also use a bar of soap to help my brows stay in place all day. Lightly run a clean spoolie brush over a damp soap bar and then brush it through your eyebrows. The soap will act as a natural brow gel, keeping your brows shaped and defined throughout the day.

Hairstylist: Ikhlas at Pastels Salon in Jumeirah. Thanks to her expertise, my hair remains super healthy even though I colour it regularly. She prioritises the health of hair above all else, and it truly shows.

Hair Products: Balmain Hair Couture – their products always smell amazing. When I’m on vacation and want beachy waves, I often use their travel sized Texturizing Salt Spray (Dhs90 for 50ml). After showering, I also apply their Overnight Repair Serum.

Skincare Routine: It isn’t too complicated. I sometimes see routines online and wonder how people manage them! I use Chanel Démaquillant Yeux Intense Gentle Biphase Eye Makeup Remover (1) followed by Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser (2), which I apply with a facial brush. Once a week, I opt for a clay mask, often the Moroccan Zakia’s Ghassoul Organic Clay Mask (3). Sometimes I use it all over my body while showering. I leave it on for about 15 minutes and enjoy a cup of tea in the meantime. After washing off the mask or removing my make-up, it’s time for Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence Hyaluronic Acid Face Mist (Dhs495). Then, I apply my three favourite products from Guerlain: Orchidée Impériale Gold Nobile The Serum (4), Eye Cream (Dhs370 for 15ml), and lastly, The Cream (Dhs2,370 for 50ml). In the morning, I always wash my face and use the refreshing mist from Tata Harper. I then repeat the last three steps of my evening routine. If I stayed up late the previous night, I sometimes dunk my face in a bowl of ice cubes. It’s super refreshing!

Flight Essentials: I am addicted to cute, travel-sized items that I can take with me, but I always try to bring my face mist and a good hydrating serum. Recently, I learned that you need to be careful about sun exposure even while on the plane, so now I bring a cream with extra SPF. Guerlain UV Skin Defense Protective Fluid Youthful Radiance SPF50 is amazing.

Miracle Product: Argan Oil is the best for both hair and skin. I also use it to make hair masks or even a scrub.

Sun Cream: I’ve been a fan of Lancaster Sun Sensitive Oil-Free Body Sun Protection Cream SPF50, since I was young, and I’m still very satisfied with it. They have a great range, and their after-sun care is fantastic too.
